Competition open to ALL Exhibition Organizers (UFI members and non-members alike)
Objectives of the annual UFI Marketing Award competitions
To recognise and reward the best marketing programme in relation with the competition theme from among the global exhibition community.
To give exhibition professionals the opportunity to exchange innovative ideas on marketing concepts, techniques and knowledge.
To honour organisations that have implemented creative and results-oriented marketing campaigns or initiatives.
Guidelines
The theme for the 2008 UFI Marketing competition is "Best Successful Concept to Attract Exhibitors that Never - or no longer - Exhibit."
Your entry must present the marketing plan, activities and promotional efforts which successfully met this objective.
As this is a marketing competition, your entry must focus on MarCom ideas and initiatives.
As your programme entry must already have been implemented, you must provide the quantitative and qualitative results which prove its success.
Entries should be built on 3 elements:
Programme target goals
Questions you may wish to answer include: Why did you establish this programme? What was the specific marketing challenge? Did you need to establish a different exhibition environment to meet newcomer needs?
The steps and actions implemented to reach your objectives
Questions you may wish to answer include: How did you identify a specific target group? What techniques were used to re-establish communications? Were new or different CRM techniques required for this audience? What unexpected obstacles did you confront?
The final results achieved
Questions you may wish to consider: What criteria were used to track your success? Did the programme meet expectations? What follow-up will you be taking? Would you do this again - and why?

Instructions
Participants must develop a one-page summary describing their general entry concept, its objectives, programme steps and results and email this summary to award@ufi.org by latest 28 April 2008.
Based on these initial summaries, a jury will make a pre-selection of three finalists. These finalists must then provide a detailed PowerPoint presentation (maximum 15 minutes) explaining their entry by 15 September 2008.
All entries will be evaluated by the UFI Marketing Committee. Criteria related to the originality, effectiveness and results of the submitted entries will be taken into consideration during the selection process.
NEW Each finalist will present his entry during the 2008 UFI Marketing Focus Meeting on 3 December 2008, in Brno, Czech Republic.
