East & Africa Conference

From April 15-17, 2024, Kigali, Rwanda, became the centre of attention for the exhibition industry as it hosted the UFI Middle East & Africa Conference. This significant event, organized by the Rwanda Convention Bureau at the Kigali Convention Centre, brought together industry leaders, professionals, and stakeholders from over 15 countries. The conference focused on exploring the opportunities, challenges, and innovations shaping the exhibition industry in the Middle East and Africa.

The three-day conference featured a series of engaging sessions that delved into some of the most pressing topics facing the industry today. Attendees had the chance to gain insights into the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the growth of emerging markets, current industry trends, and the importance of sustainability. These discussions provided participants with invaluable perspectives on how to navigate the rapidly evolving exhibition landscape in the region.

Strategic Focus for the UFI MEA Chapter

In addition to the knowledge-sharing sessions, the conference also served as a strategic meeting point for the UFI Middle East & Africa Chapter. During this gathering, members discussed plans for the chapter’s growth, with a particular emphasis on enhancing diversity and inclusion within the industry. The meeting also outlined upcoming events and initiatives for 2024, including advocacy efforts like Global Exhibitions Day on June 5 and various education and research programs.

Social Activities and Cultural Immersion

Beyond the formal sessions, the conference offered a range of social activities that allowed participants to forge new partnerships and strengthen existing relationships.
