The 2023 UFI Operations and Services Award

The theme of this year’s UFI Operations & Services Award was “Successful examples of operational measures to reduce the carbon footprint of trade fairs and events” and the jury selected Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited as the winner.

The main goal of the 2023 UFI Operations & Services Award was to honour and recognise organisations that have successfully implemented outstanding projects that have already helped in reducing the carbon footprint of a specific event, multiple events, a venue, or a specific associated service; and which has laid the foundations for continued improvement.

The Winner’s Project


The jury also recognised two other finalists as Best Practices for the quality of their projects:

  • Fiera Milano (Italy) for presenting their first carbon footprint assessment of the event “Homi fashion & jewels” and actions taken to offset the CO2 emissions generated
  • Bar Convent Brooklyn (US), an RX event for their waste impact reduction initiative.

To reward, the best exhibition industry initiatives connected to Sustainable Development as they are related to the current competition theme.”
