Economic Impact Studies

Reports on the value of exhibitions.

UFI has partnered with Oxford Economics to assess the total economic impact of exhibitions at both global and regional levels. The first edition of this global study was published in April 2019.

A new edition of the Global Economic Impact of Exhibition report, covering the year 2024, was released in May 2025. This updated report provides comprehensive data on the direct, indirect, and induced economic effects of the exhibition industry across all world regions – including GDP contributions, employment supported, and total business output generated.

UFI Member Associations can request individual country profile reports, and several national reports have been produced since: the economic impact of exhibitions in the UK (October 2019 and October 2023), the economic impact of exhibitions in Spain (June 2020), the economic impact of exhibitions in Thailand (June 2022), the economic impact of exhibitions in Greece (February 2024), and the economic impact of exhibitions in Brazil (February 2025).
