United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is tasked with supporting the global response to the threat of climate change and organises the annual Conference of Parties (COP). The Convention is the foundational treaty that provided a basis for international climate negotiations, including the Kyoto Protocol (1997) and the Paris Agreement (2015).

In 2021, UFI initiated the Net Zero Carbon Events pledge with the support of the UNFCCC secretariat and presented the pledge at COP26 in Glasgow. Read COP26 interviews on The Iceberg.
